(From 2013 Vintage) While the palate is opulent, full of lemon meringue, peach pie, and ripe strawberry, the vibrancy of the acidity reliably lays the foundation for food pairing and aging for many years to come.
Rich and intense aromas of lemon, lime leaf, citrus flowers, honey and slightly nutty baked pie crust. The creamy texture is nicely complemented by expressions of white stone fruits (nectarines and peaches) and Granny Smith green apple with hints of marzipan on the finish.
This wine has wonderful fullness and creaminess without being heavy. A clean soft entry is Clean pure aromas of pear and crisp green apple, all overlaid with light tropical fruit notes and a hint of honeysuckle. quickly followed by crisp acidity and a rich display of fruit including juicy nectarine and white peach along with a hint of lychee and fresh citrus. The flavors on the finish are reminiscent of pear tart while the oak contribution is well integrated throughout the profile, with just a touch of nuttiness showing through.
Nice nose, fruit is front and center with a nice oak bass note, flavor is controlled and balanced all the way through, nothing overpowers anything else. A slight acidic fruit kick at first, just a hint of cinnamon and Apple in the middle, and the oak takes center stage at the end. Absolutely fantastic.
Aroma of melon ribs, honey, citrus. Maybe lychee. Pale straw color. Wine has some body. In the palate, some butter, light oak characteristics, beautiful lemon acid. Incredible finish.
We had 4 bottles with dinner at Peter Luger, fantastic body that complimented the flavor of the porterhouse
Very good, slighty sweet chardonnay.
Flemmings downtown with Gerard.
