(From 2012 Vintage) No matter what the vintage, this wine is really more than 100 years old. It represents a family's journey to produce an Argentine Malbec that can stand with the great wines of the world. Malbec Argentino is a blend of Catena Zapata's historic Malbec vineyards Adrianna and Nicasia.
This Malbec has unique profile of aromas and flavors: the ripe plum fruit flavors and silky texture with the dark fruit character and pepper notes and black cherry aromas and excellent structure of explosive floral aromatics full, concentrated mouthfeel.
Score 92: $20 Bt - full-body aromas of dark fruit and smoke to the nose. Velvet texture with fleshy black plums and dark berries. Try with BBQ meats
high altitude vines, Andes foothills.
Not bad. Probably better paired with meats. Just seems a little thin. Tried it with swiss cheese and and no real bounce to the flavor.
Oldest purveyor in Argentina. Wine Spectator top wine. Now his daughter's project. Complex.
