Wine Description

(From 2013 Vintage) Often described as one of Australia’s unsung heroes, Grenache is naturally lighter in colour than Shiraz or Cabernet Sauvignon but continually provides us with wonderful big fruit flavours. Yalumba is extremely fortunate to have access to some of the oldest Grenache vineyards in the Barossa –with fruit for this wine sourced from vines planted between 1898 and 1973.

Wine Tasting Notes Yalumba Barossa Bush Vine Grenache is dense in color with purple hues. The wine shows a great depth of Barossa regional character, opening with delicious earthy red fruits, quickly followed by seductive fruit aromas of black cherry and mulberries, finishing dark and brooding. The palate is dense, ripe and simply bursting at the seams with layers of silky textures of toffee apple, blueberry and anise around a chunky core of super vine seamless tannins. A terrific wine to drink now but one that will just get better and better in the cellar over the medium term. (hide)
