Wine Description

On the nose, fruity, redolent of dark berries and a hint of vanilla and delicate roasted notes. The palate is beautifully dense, with finesse and flavor structure. Wonderfully elegant and silky.

The 2010 vintage marks Ornellaia's 25th Anniversary. In celebration, every bottle of Ornellaia 2010 is decorated with a special logo, silk-screened in gold and ivory. The 2010 vintage was one of the most elegant expressions of Ornellaia. The palate is finesse par excellence, with silky tannins and bright, clean-edged fruit, crowned with a finish boasting impressively racy tannins.

(2013 Vintage) Vanilla, toast and smoke notes shade the black cherry and plum aromas, while the spicy oak theme carries over on the palate. Shows fine balance. Best from 2018 through 2029.-B.S.

(2013 Vintage) Amazing graphite and violet aromas with dark fruits. Medium to full body, ultra-velvety tannins and a long and beautiful finish. Formed and tight. I love the fresh ginger underneath it all. A cool profile that’s so approachable with wonderful length. #84 Top 100 of 2016

(2013 Vintage) A blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot, this opens with aromas of red currant, fragrant purple flower and exotic spice. The currant aroma carries over to the austere palate along with cranberry, chopped herb and French oak. With its backbone of firm acidity and assertive close-grained tannins, it already boasts finesse but will need years to soften and develop. Drink 2021-2028.

(2004 Vintage) Deep ruby. The initially reticent nose begins with a hint of grass before revealing wonderfully complex notes of raspberry, red and black cherry, leather, tobacco and intriguing minerality. Much more explosive on the palate from the get-go, with deep, ripe red and black fruit flavors given extra lift and complexity by pretty coffee and dark chocolate highlights. The very long, nuanced finish features smooth tannins. A very successful Ornellaia.
