(From 2011 Vintage) "A great showing from this established name in what's more typically Cabernet country. Winemaker Leo Hansen used a bit of skin contact and native yeast during fermentation to provide a great mix of richness and intensity. Pear drops, cantaloupe and citrus are balanced by a great creamy texture.Starting in 1998, Fritz Stuhlmuller gives us his Estate bottled, classic California-style Chardonnay. Baked apples and stone fruits partner with touches of oak and vanilla. Pair with chicken in a butter cream sauce."- Top 100 wines of 2013

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(From 2007 Vintage) Over the past several vintages, Stuhlmuller has impressed with a string of deep, well-defined Chardonnays, and, if this wine is a bit smaller in terms of richness and size, it is still quite appealing and fairly likeable for its clear focus on straightforward, green-apple fruit. It is presently closed off by its obvious acids, but its edges are easily blamed on its youth, and it will benefit from a brief rest in the bottle.
