(2010 Vintage) Alexander Valley was shaped by dramatic geologic activity-from an ancient landslide that changed the course of the Russian River, to earthquake upheavals that redistributed whole sections of land. The incredible diversity of soil types and microclimates produces wines with velvety textures and bright, luscious flavors. Simi Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the best of Alexander Valley, with the bright fruit character and elegance that made this world-class growing region famous.
(2010 Vintage) The remarkable color of this wine cannot be ignored. It is brilliantly clear straw with glimmers of gold throughout. The nose is similarly expressive, with tropical notes of guava, pineapple, bright nectarine, peach, green apple, and citrus delicately spiced with toasty oak. Lifted aromatics of orange blossoms and a hint of smoke add a savory character. It all comes together on the palate with well-defined, supremely balanced and forward flavors of tangerine, peach, and green apple that are lifted by a light toasted and warm oak character that reveals itself as sweet vanilla, hazelnut, nutmeg, and smoky bacon. This wine is perfectly balanced with a delicate, lightly floral finish.
good, but maybe Chardonnay is not my favorite. grassy. pineapple ? not great as before dinner drink.
