Our 2011 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is an elegant representation of Napa Valley Cabernet from a cool vintage. It presents an opaque garnet hue in the glass and reveals aromas of sandalwood and roasted meats. Flavors of vanilla, coffee beans and raspberries are buttressed by dusty tannins, firm acidity and a mouth-coating texture. Given proper cellaring, this wine should provide drinking pleasure through 2029.
Well, here we are, I have been sipping and savoring Silver Oak Cabernets since the mid-1970's. My notebooks tell me that I have tasted almost every vintage. The '10 Alexander Valley is pretty fine and shows just how far this iconic winery has come. This is a complete wine- ripe red currants, sweet American oak and supple tannins.

International Wine Cellar(1999 Vintage) Rating: 89-92 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 102, May/June 2002. (with 8% cabernet franc, 6% merlot and 3% petit verdot) Rich, full nose combines roasted currant, cedar, spice box, chocolate mint, coconut and smoky oak, along with a lightly leafy quality. The lushest and fullest wine of this tasting, with the most harmonious combination of fruit and acidity. Dense but firm and nicely delineated. Finishes with fine, spreading tannins that coat the mouth and teeth.
