2010 Rodney Strong Merlot Sonoma County

Wine Description

We barrel fermented about 60% of this wine, and aged that portion in barrel for 5 months, offering the wine a touch of brown spice and vanilla, while cold fermenting the remainder to maximize a fresh fruit-forward character. Bright lemon and apple aromas mingle with hints of toasty barrel complexity, and on the palate, pear and pineapple with spice and refreshing acidity will have you coming back for another glass. Enjoy this lively chardonnay now and over the next couple of years.

Robust flavor. Wonderful enchanting. Mystifying full aroma. Lets you know something good is about to arrive to your taste buds. The plum & blueberry flavors are predominant along with a touch of dried herbs in this soft rich mouth filling Merlot. Had a long lingering berry cream finish.

We barrel fermented about 60% of this wine, and sur-lies aged that portion in barrel for five months, offering the wine a touch of brown spice and vanilla. The remaining 40% was cold fermented to capture a fresh fruit-forward character, providing bright lemon and apple aromas that mingle with hints of the toasty barrel complexity. On the palate, pear and green apple with refreshing acidity will lure you back for another sip. Enjoy this lively chardonnay now and over the next couple of years.

Fruit grown in cool vineyards continues to distinguish this dependable Sonoma chardonnay. Special apple and citrus notes arrive on the nose with tropical flavours showing on the sytlish palate. Oak is pleasantly balanced with the fruit, and crisp acidity keeps the package trim and fresh.
