Wine Description

(From 2009 Vintage) Aroma: Complex fragrance of black cherry, blackberry, cassis and dark espresso, with underlying crushed granite and floral notes of dusty rose petal and violets. Flavors: Rich, concentrated black and red fruit flavors are wide and deep. Sleek, silky tannins bring substantial weight to the mid-palate, topped with layers of cassis, graphite, roasted coffee and violets. Finish: The sweet tannins stride down the finish, bringing along black pepper, cigar box spice and a pronounced minerality. General: A dense, racy and balanced Cabernet Sauvignon, perfect for a ribeye. Decanting is recommended.

Winemaker's Notes

It is a stunning wine with an opaque purple color and sweet, broad notes of licorice, plum, blueberry, blackberry, and cassis, as well as a hint of crushed rock. The oak is subtle and the wine savory, rich, and full-bodied, with remarkably sweet tannins,

Aroma: A delicious mélange of dark black berries, dark-roast espresso and hints of anisette opens up to reveal underlying warm mineral notes, cassis, violets and spice. Flavors: Signature black and red fruit flows freely across the palate, entwined with more espresso, dark chocolate, and touches of violet and licorice. A warm mineral component echoes the wine’s foothills heritage. Finish: Firm, supple tannins along the base of the wine keep the luscious fruit aloft through a generous finish, bolstered by crisp acidity. General: A dense, racy and balanced Cabernet Sauvignon that is the perfect match for a ribeye.

Velvet. Excellent nose. Bold, but soft. Yum. Bought a nottle.
