(From 2000 Vintage) Colour: Deep youthful crimson red. Bouquet: Mulberry and blueberry fruits are interlaced with hints of spicy oak, licorice, and eucalyptus. Rich fruitcake notes and chocolate are framed within the lifted berry fruit of Coonawarra. Palate: Fleshy small berry and plum fruit flavours are harmoniously laced with savoury notes. Fine tannins, subtle oak, and a long finish enhance a generous mouthfeel.
Deep colour; blackberry pastille with a geranium undergrowth note to the fruit; the palate is thickly textured, with black fruits, tar and leather all evident on the full-bodied and chewy tannin finish. (17-Jan-2012) [James Halliday]
