(2014 Vintage) This is a fresh white wine with a crisp acidity. It is a good example of Verdejo from DO Rueda.
A nice zinger of a wine - very complex in the mouth right away, with some nectarine, dry lavender and hay, and best of all, wonderfully balanced acidity. A good zesty spiciness carries through to the finish as well. The mouthfeel suggests a vibrancy that I don't often see in other wines at the $10 pricepoint, and the control of the oak is much appreciated. It is almost too strong though to be paired with food, but with nibbles like cheese and olives it skips along nicely. Overall, a very rewarding and engaging summer white.
wonderful summer sipping wine.
