(From 2013 Vintage) Bold, luscious, Juicy and layered with notes of raspberry, cherry, rhubarb, raisin, bubblegum, green bean, dried herbs, mushroom, and cedar. Warm and rich yet beautifully balanced by racy lemony natural acidity.
Intense nose of sweet red fruits, quince, and berry compote lead to a palate showing layers of black raspberry and plum preserves with accents of vanilla and caramel. There is a hint of smokey spice at the finish, adding a pleasant piquancy that lifts and balances the richness of the fruit.
"The 2010 Mountain Zinfandel is an intensely flavored, decadent wine. Jammy aromas follow through to luscious dark berry flavors and a smooth, round mouth feel. The finish is long and satisfying with hints of vanilla and white pepper. The wine is bold enough to accompany spicy fare brilliantly. Try it with spicy sausage like Andouille." Me: Lots of dark red fruit, and spice, but the finish is surprisingly thin, in my opinion.
Delicious! Good nose, nice mouth feel. a surprise after tasting a terrible Pinot.
