(From 2013 Vintage) What I noted about the 2013 Neyers Carneros Chardonnay is its even-handed mix of floral, mineral and creamy sensations. I see a subtle and positive shift away from tropical fruit intensity in the nose - perhaps due to the longer wild-yeast fermentation. I like the accent on a steelier, almost flinty texture as you move away from the battonage. The feel is as silky as ever, but the crispness and minerality give a stronger sense of place - you get a clear awareness of the cooler climate sources in Carneros - than of winemaking. I'm loving it. Congratulations.
(From 2012 Vintage) The finished wine has a rich, almost creamy texture, with a lovely aroma of grilled bread and tropical fruit.
