(From 2008 Vintage) One of the benchmarks for what can be achieved with Carmenere. Notions of sandalwood, exotic spices, incense, a hint of chocolate, blueberry, and black currant set the stage for a dense, rich, voluptuous, structured wine that is all about pleasure.
The wine is dark and brooding, offering dense and concentrated blackberry, currant, loam, coconut, dark chocolate, bell pepper, tar, espresso, and violets. Full-bodied round and polished with plenty of power and depth. The finish is supple, mouth-coating and persistent dosing out a ton of spicy black fruits.
BlackBerry, spice, and vanilla undertones on the nose. On the palate, black fruit, some dried fruit, with a definite spice. There's also a touch of green pepper. this is a really nice and balanced one. It's great with food.
