The 2010 Barbera d’Asti Superiore Le Orme is an attractive, fleshy wine loaded with class and personality, especially within its price range. Clean, mineral notes frame expressive dark fruit in this vibrant, highly appealing Barbera. This is a highly representative example of the taut style of Barbera that emerges from Asti.
First Barberra preparing for 2015 Italy trip. Much simpler structure than Dolcetto or Brolo. Most widely planted grape in Piedmont. Fairly simple.
A very savoury wine with big flavor. Tannins on the back palate, benefits from about an hour of decanting.
Laura really liked - smells like butter
Light bodied good with pizza no bouquet
I had a 2004 today. Quite nice
Good inexpensive Italian wine.
Plummy and yummy

Wine & Spirits(From 2007 Vintage) Chiarlo's 2006 Barbera d'Asti Superiore Le Orme is a delicious, fragrant Barbera. Made in a medium-bodied style, it offers notable harmony in its ripe red fruit, minerals and spices. Silky, refined tannins round out this terrific effort, which is a steal for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.
