(From 2013 Vintage) Russian River Pinot Noir is a crystal clear, light burgundy color in the glass, with lovely purple undertones. On the nose, the wine offers a delicate blend of rose petal, juicy red raspberries, and a subtle orange peel and clove note. In the mouth, the wine is layered and complex, with flavors of ripe brown figs, raspberries, and sweet, smokey oak. The tannins are broad and silky, with a moderate use of oak perfectly framing wine’s structure. Enjoy this spectacular Pinot with pan seared bone-in pork chops, served with thyme-roasted sweet potatoes and a simple spinach salad with raspberries and chèvre.
There is lots of charm in this soft, gentle Pinot Noir. It’s not an ager, but it offers some nice cherry, Dr. Pepper and spice flavors.
