Wine Description

(2012 Vintage) The fruit was hand harvested and the berries purposely “broken” before being whole-cluster pressed to a stainless steel tank. The wine was fermented cool and finished bone dry. It completed a long, slow malolactic fermentation which balanced the naturally high acidity. A gentle filtration was done prior to bottling. (2006 Vintage) Inky ruby. Ripe dark berry and candied plum aromas are complicated by charred meat and dark chocolate. Fleshy blackcurrant, boysenberry and bitter chocolate flavors are a touch warm but offer serious flavor impact and supple texture. I like the oomph that this offers but would have liked a bit more verve. The grapes for this wine were harvested on November 1.
