(2011 Vintage) The wine shows an enticing transparent brick color. Aromas of rose pedals, cranberry, strawberry, and assorted herbs translate into a palate very consistent with those aromas, with clean acidity and none of the banana meets bubble gum flavors of some regional Beaujolais. This is on the flowery and feminine end of the Cru Village level. A very pretty yet serious tasting wine, and well worth the trip for this kind of money. Pair with simple turkey or pork dishes.
Wine SpectatorThe wine, distinguished and supple with the fragrance of violets, has all the features of a Fleurie. Deep ruby. Cherry and black raspberry on the pungent, floral-accented nose. Lively, focused dark berry flavors show a spicy quality and become sweeter with air. Finishes with good clarity and cut, leaving a bitter cherry note behind.
