This sudden flourish to the vintage has imprinted a sultry, seductive character to the otherwise expressive aromatics of deep plum and dark cherry. Flavors of chocolate and blueberries envelope you with their richness yet, with a balanced acidity, never weigh you down.
vibrant ruby colour. rich chocolate and Christmas cake aromas. up front blackcurrant fruit, fresh but rich mid palate and lovely chocolate length. hint of spice and great length, very well balanced.
Never had a Frog's Leap red before tour of winery in 2013. Not traditionally a big merlot fan, but not bad.

Wine & Spirits(2005 Vintage) There's an ashy, sage and thyme edge to this ripe young Merlot that actually adds interest to the cherry, blackberry and cranberry aromas and flavors. The wine is voluptuously rich, almost decadent, so ripe is the fruit and so fine are the tannins, but it never loses its dry sense of balance. Very Bordeaux-like in elegance.
