Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(2001 Vintage) 13% Merlot; 7% Cabernet Franc; 4% Petit Verdot. While we find no fault with this bottling's very proper varietal themes of cherries, oak and herbs, the one wants for more volume, more range and more overall intensity to be much more than a clean but somewhat hollowed-out wine.
