(From 2012 Vintage) To express the complexity of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape and diversity of the Napa Valley, Faust seeks Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from Agustin’s family vineyards in Rutherford and Coombsville, Napa Valley's newest appellation located in the eastern foothills south of Atlas Peak. Agustin’s relationships with growers in other Napa Valley appellations, such as Yountville, Mount Veeder, Atlas Peak, St. Helena and Rutherford, round out the wine with small lots from these spectacular mountain and valley terroirs.
"The wine opens with a big bouquet of red and black cherries, ripe raspberry, and hints of violet. A lush, full entry on the palate with blackberry, cassis, coffee and dark chocolate flavors that lead to a rich, supple mouthfeel. A complex finish with dark fruit aromas that linger in the mouth. The wine continually evolves in the glass."- Faust
Rough-hewn, dense and chewy, with a strong herbal presence mixed with drying sage, dark berry and underbrush notes.

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(From 2005 Vintage) 18% Merlot; 3% Cabernet Franc. Putting its ripe currant fruit to good use as the focus of its rich, outgoing aromas, this wine is full and supple on entry and firm across the palate with tannins for backbone and deep, slightly chocolate-tinged fruit showing the way in the finish. There are those who will try this one in its youth, but there is plenty of justification for letting it rest in the cellar for a few years yet.
