Wine Description

(2010 Vintage) A wonderful lushness defines the 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, which displays an impactful spectrum of blue and black fruit aromas typical of each unique sub-appellation. On the palate, warm blackberry, dark blueberry and plum are interwoven with cassis and toasted barrel spices. This Cabernet Sauvignon is satisfyingly evolved in its young years, but showcases a rich texture and velvety, long tannins telling of the wine’s graceful aging potential. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon; Aged in French oak barrels (80% new) for 22 months.

(2010 Vintage) Marnie Old: In warm, sunny growing regions, like Napa Valley, grapes get quite ripe, yielding red wines that are darker, stronger and bolder in flavor, as with this decadent prestige Cabernet Sauvignon. This sought-after style is incredibly dense and powerful - perfectly suited to rich proteins like red meats and bold flavors. Their strength can pose pairing challenges, though, with less 'muscular' foods. Their concentration can overwhelm raw foods, vegetarian cuisine and recipes that feature a bare minimum of seasoning. OTHER STYLES WITH SIMILAR PROPERTIES: Washington Cabernet Sauvignon; Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. FOOD AFFINITIES: Blue cheeses & cooked sausages; cooked red meats & game; Grilled & smoked foods; Red wine & stock-based sauces. FOOD CLASHES TO AVOID: Will seem heavier and less refreshing with low-fat foods; Will burn with spicy heat; Mature barrel-spice flavors can overwhelm raw foods or salads.
