(From 2006 Vintage)
Bright, brilliant yellow gold with touches of white gold on the rim. On the nose, an explosion of dried apricot, roasted almonds and honey balanced with tangerine, quince, pear, banana, pineapple and white peaches. On the palate, honey with touches of citrus, almonds, vanilla and apricots lingering on marzipan and pineapple.
89 Points, Wine Spectator:
"Lots of complex, creamy vanilla-scented oak is cloaked over a mix of ripe pear, melon and spicy apple scents. Full-bodied, this returns to the creamy oak and marshmallow theme on the finish. Drink now through 2011. 925 cases made. –JL" (2009)
87 Points, Wine Enthusiast:
"Very rich, with freshly crushed pineapple, grilled ripe peach, buttered toast and caramelized vanilla cream flavors. Could have greater structure, as it’s a little soft for all that weight, but it’s a fancy Chardonnay. — S.H." (6/1/2009)
100% Chardonnay! AO on the nose describes of apricot, pecan nuts, cashew, banana, bread, marzipan, cedar box, creme brûlée, quince and honey, balanced with minerality, overripe pear, brioche and sea breeze.
Very nice could become a favorite !
Some Viognier taste but very good.

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(From 2005 Vintage) Aromas of green apples and pears are lightly seasoned with a soupcon of vanilla bean oak and make for a very nice start here, yet the wine proves to be unexpectedly shallow in flavor, and it grows increasingly chalky and coarse en route to a ragged finish that is hotter than needs be.
