(From 2011 Vintage) This wine is a deep ruby red and easily pairs with various Italian dishes, above all risottos, especially those flavoured with saffron, porcini mushrooms and pork; classic dishes such as pasta with Amatriciana and Carbonara sauces, baked lasagna, gnocchi with gorgonzola cheese and walnuts; grilled meats and roasts.
Deep ruby red in color, this wine is brimming with notes of dark, dried cherries, blackberries and hints of dates and mocha

Good tears. When glass filled to at least one inch you can see through the red, but it is a medium dark ruby. Pleasant smell with cherry and berry. Velvety roll on the tongue. Moderate tannin. Good ending-long but not sharp. I will try it with food but it could go with cheese and crackers.
Very clean on nose and palette. Nice, unassertive, smooth tannins. Inoffensive in every way and great with food. Purchased a bottle at a restaurant for $39. Very good wine for the price.
Delicious, earth and raisin with the depth of an unfiltered wine. I can never get enough and guests always love it!
This is very smooth. Contrary to other reviews, I think this is a simple, straightforward wine. It's very good.
Aged in oak barrels, this is a unique wine with a pleasant, fruity, raisin like character.
Very drinkable. Mom liked. I thought low flavor at first, but got better.
Not bad, once it opens up great taste. Strong finish. $16.98

Fruity and smooth. Slight dryness back of throat.
Concur with description. Very smooth and complex.
Best with food—not a stand alone "sipping wine".
Very good, had with steak and with fish/marinara
