(2009 Vintage) Sourced from prime old vine zinfandel vines located in Paso Robles AVA along California’s Central Coast – a premier location for this varietal – Zin 91 is medium bodied and well balanced. Robust aromas of black pepper and cherry vanilla are accented by a hint of maple. The wine features dried cherry, raspberry, and cola flavors with a boysenberry, clove, and orange-peel finish. Enjoy this elegant zinfandel with a range of meats, such as roasted chicken, grilled pork chops, and barbecue spare ribs.
The nose here is near perfect Zinfandel with nice dark fruit, spice and barrel notes. This one is juicy and smooth with nice ripe berry (raspberry and boysenberry) fruit on the palate. From there a nice black pepper spicy component emerges on the mid-palate. This is a big wine but maintains a semblance of balance between the fruit, acidity and alcohol. The finish brings a full plethora of barrel flavors; oak, creaminess and vanilla, that linger on with nice tingly tannins.
sweet, plumy, cherries and a very drinkable zin. I prefer more body and spiciness to my zin but still good wine.
Lightly sweet, great berry start with black pepper spice finish
Juicy berry start with slightly spicy black pepper finish
lovely! very easy drinking Zin, not too fruity.
