(2009 Vintage) Ruby purple color with ripe red cherry aromas with hints of mineral and vanilla. A dry, medium bodied red wine with refreshing acidity (making it perfect to pair with food) and soft tannins, the Barbera d'Asti Tre Vigne is well balanced with good integration of oak, good complexity and a finish of more red cherries.
Rather withdrawn at first. Give this babe a half an hour to come out it's shell. The hints of cherry menthols fade away leaving a lively cranberry foundation. Cinnamon, anise, and other baking spices bring this medium bodied Wine home.
Barbera grape. Light color like Pinor noir. Raspberries. Like lighter chianti.
Great Italian red!
