Wine Description
Tree fruit aromas of pear and quince combine with delicate floral notes and a pinch of nutmeg spice to showcase the true essence of the Chardonnay grape. Influence from French oak barrels adds a hint of vanilla custard and contributes to a round, smooth texture while preserving a freshness that invites another taste.
Classic tree fruit aromas of pear and apricot combine with floral notes and a hint of oak expressed as hazelnut. Nutmeg scented poached pears fill the palate which finishes with a light toastiness. The full, focused texture receives a refreshing lift from the perfectly balanced acidity.

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(2006 Vintage) Slightly toasty first notes are joined by a vanilla custard-like scent in the surprisingly low-key aromas of this ripe, but quietly fruity, full-bodied wine. It comes with a full measure of supportive acid and a nice sense of backbone, but it never quite convinces that it has the stuffing to open up into greatness, and its past success notwithstanding, it trails the best here.
