(From 2013 Vintage) Sourced from diverse vineyards located on the western edge of the Central Coast of California, the defining characteristic is coastal influence. San Luis Obispo County grapes from the west side of Paso Robles and pristine vineyards in Edna Valley provide a base of dense, black fruit and spice notes. With its loamy soils and cool maritime climate, Monterey County adds impeccable balance, layered red berry fruit and clean minerality. SAN LUIS OBISPO A warmer-than-average growing season with consistently dry weather led to an early harvest at optimal ripeness, yielding bright and balanced fruit. MONTEREY The persistent morning fog and long, mild growing season allowed the fruit longer hang time, resulting in excellent color extraction and bright acidity.
Rich aromas of dark cherry, spiced plum and wild raspberry draw you in to an equally complex and intense palate built around a core of black cherry and black raspberry fruit. Juicy acidity keeps the dark berry fruit fresh and appealing, with silky tannins that bring out hints of cola, raspberry cordial and cedar throughout the lingering finish.
