Wine Description

(From 2010 Vintage) Saturated ruby. Pungent aromas of cassis, blackberry, licorice and violet pastille. Sweet, pliant and generous, with just enough acidity to give life and shape to the black fruit and bitter chocolate flavors. Finishes long and flavorful, with substantial chewy, ripe tannins and lingering notes of chocolate and minerals.

Winemaker's Notes

Rich yet cut, with complex layers of cassis, blackberry and fig paste leading to notes of tobacco and wild herb that linger on the minerally finish.

Michel Rolland's much-lauded project in Argentina delivers another winning wine, this one a blend built around the Malbec grape. Enjoy with grilled lamb chops or liver and onions. Ripe, succulent, and impressively balanced, this outstanding value will also drink well for another 5-6 years. Score - 90. (Jay Miller, erobertparker.com, Dec. 2011)
