(From 2011 Vintage) The 2011 offering of Petite Sirah from McManis Family Vineyards is almost black in color. While very dark in color the hue is vibrant and youthful. The nose has an abundance of ripe black fruits, predominantly Blackberry and Boysenberry. Oak aging has contributed a pleasing mélange of rich creamy caramel and maple syrup scents, with just a barely perceptible waff of smoke. The dense viscous liquid delivers all of the flavors one would expect from the aromatics. Savory and luscious the finish pleasantly persistent.

Wine & Spirits(From 2008 Vintage) Shows the dry astringency, sharp acidity and bitterness of a fine, young Petite Sirah, with currant and pepper flavors accented with smoky oak. Doesnrsquo;t seem likely to develop, so drink now with hearty fare, like pasta with sausages.
