(From 2012 Vintage) Bright ruby in color, with an attractive nose of red cherry, with subtle violet and tobacco notes. The palate frames blackcurrant and damson fruit with taut tannins and notes of liquorice and spice.
Masciarelli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a medium-bodied, concentrated red with ripe flavors of raspberry, strawberry, red currant, cherry, violet, earth and tobacco. This is a lovely pairing for lamb, grilled meat, and an array of cheeses.
* COLOR: clear, deep ruby red * AROMA: presents youthful, intensely perfumed notes of dark cherry, dark chocolate, violets, and blackcurrants * PALATE: very raisened dark fruit notes; a dry and drying palate awaits with medium acidity and medium, gum-chewing tannins; the finish is quite short, although the tannins hang around in the mouth
Great wine for the price. Very well balanced with a rich fruity bite at the start, soft tannins, and a smooth finish that leaves you with hints of pear.
Splendido uso della barrique
