(2009 Vintage) Masciarelli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a medium-bodied, concentrated red with ripe flavors of raspberry, strawberry, red currant, cherry, violet, earth and tobacco. This is a lovely pairing for lamb, grilled meat, and an array of cheeses.
* COLOR: clear, deep ruby red * AROMA: presents youthful, intensely perfumed notes of dark cherry, dark chocolate, violets, and blackcurrants * PALATE: very raisened dark fruit notes; a dry and drying palate awaits with medium acidity and medium, gum-chewing tannins; the finish is quite short, although the tannins hang around in the mouth
Great wine for the price. Very well balanced with a rich fruity bite at the start, soft tannins, and a smooth finish that leaves you with hints of pear.
Splendido uso della barrique
