Wine Description

(From 2004 Vintage) Discreet if not invisible wood pairs with elegant and refined green apple, spice and slightly exotic fruit aromas and round, intense and moderately austere full-bodied flavors that are supple yet pack plenty of muscle and punch on the powerfully long finish.

Winemaker's Notes

Powerful, concentrated and intense, this wine rolls around the mouth in its rich opulence. The ripest of sweet apricot and pear fruits join buttery toast just laced with acidity.

This Grand Cru wine has a citrus bouquet with a rich tropical fruit character. It is intensely powerful and fills the mouth with a multiplicity of flavours ending in a fine, steely finish which lingers on the palate for minutes. This wine needs 4 to 5 years to open up and can age for up to 20 years. A beautiful gold colour worthy of grands crus with pungent aromas of grilled almonds. Rich in the mouth with oaky notes present. All elements come together to make this great 09 Corton-Charlemagne, which is promising today but will be even bigger in a few years. One must be patient!

Plain and simple my favorite white wine of all time. Latour Corton Charlemagne. Toasted Hazelnut, Lemon Drop, Honeysuckle, and a hint of Anise. Amazing balance and simply lights up your mouth.
