(From 2013 Vintage) A combination of night-harvested Russian River Valley grapes, French oak aging and old-world winemaking techniques create a balanced white wine defined by purity of stone fruit flavors, vibrant acidity and a succulent finish that makes you want to take another sip. Not a typical California Chardonnay, Jordan is harmoniously balanced to best pair with a broad range of foods.
After a gentle pressing, cold fermentation occurred in French oak barrels (with one quarter in stainless steel). After three months of sur-lie aging and batonnage, the wine underwent only 36% malolactic fermentation to retain its bright acidity. With a portion resting in stainless steel, the remaining 72% of the wine was aged in 100% French oak (56% new) for 5.5 months before bottling in July 2010.
Wine BuyerThe bouquet offers delicate aromas of Fuji apple, citrus, nutmeg, honey, and lightly toasted oak. The wine delivers lively and complex flavors of Asian pear, key lime, and Marcona almond. These refined notes offer a seamless expression of rich, bold flavors with a long, elegant finish. This wine will be delicious upon release and will continue to gain honeyed richness with an additional 3 to 5 years of aging. Serve between 55 and 60 degrees to ensure the full flavor development.
