Il Palazzone Brunello di Montalcino

Wine Details

Wine Description

(1999 Vintage) Il Palazzone's Brunello di Montalcino is characterized by a deep ruby color with garnet hues. Bursts of cherry, ripe plum and hints of bay leaf are balanced with overtones of chocolate, spices and licorice. The wines have a light tannic structure and a long silky finish. “This really has aromas of crushed ripe fruit and flowers. Full-bodied, with very silky tannins and a pretty, refined finish. Beauty. Tiny, serious producer.” - James Suckling, Wine Spectator October 31, 2004. 91 points.

Brunello's not a favourite, this one from visit to the vintner, neighbour closeby to La Ninfee 6 villa rental. American owner, british woman with local Tuscan (montalcino?) husband. Taste ok, but for nostalgia more than taste.
