(2012 Vintage) First launched in 1992, its name came from the lot located next to the reservoir of Charity in Esporão. At the time, it was created with the same origin and philosophy Esporão Reserve, but in order to reach more people and transform the consumption of wine in daily experience. Prepared according to the winemaking tradition of Alentejo, its diversity of grape varieties and winemaking techniques reveal the specific character of the region where born: rich aromas, soft palate and excellent culinary skill. It is a wine composed of grapes throughout the region, the result of partnerships with more than 15 years with suppliers of various sub-regions, which follow the same system of Integrated Production by which the spur is governed. These sustainable practices, between which the abolition of the use of pesticides and herbicides, are determining the quality and fertility of the soil, the natural protective ability of the vineyard and consequently the quality of the wines. Always faithful to its origins, Monte Velho is the Alentejo in a glass, which has, over the years, established itself as a reference region in Portugal and the world.
clear bright colour. Red fruit and spice on nose. light to medium body. red raspberry style fruit, some raisened sweetness. well balanced and good length. very quaffable.
