(2012 Vintage) Light gold color. Alluring aromas of citrus zest and lime blossom are underscored with notes of lemon thyme. Fresh flavors of Comice pear and Honeycrisp apple are followed by a driving minerality on the mid-palate and a lingering finish derived from the vibrant acidity that is unique to the extreme Sonoma Coast appellation.
Marine sediments and volcanic rock create a character that parallels oaks woodiness. This vintage melds it into a roasted hazelnut scent, given over to floral delicacy as the wine evolves in the glass. Sea air and citrus cool the flavors, tightening the chard into a fine and gracious richness. Pinkness in citrus flavor would pair well with roasted salmon.
