For all of you white Burgundy lovers out there, here is a great one from one of the finest producers. Fresh, delicious, mineral overtones with a crisp and fairly long finsih for a Macon. A beauty any time of the year.
Wine & SpiritsI know it seems crazy to buy a $36 Macon, but I can promise you, the Leflaive Mâcon-Verzé drinks like a $50 bottle. This is probably the smoothest Chardonnay I have ever tasted - and so buttery, you could just spread it right on your toast. The oak is well integrated, and the fruit is ripe and very rich. Some mineral on the back end adds a great depth and complexity, and balances perfectly with the other elements of the wine. If you are a fan of Meursault or Chassagne Montrachet, this is one to check out.
