The 2009 Cline Zinfandel surprised me tonight by showing not only the usual pleasant fruit but also a mature acidity making it pair very well to bbq. The nose is full of dark fruit jam with a hint of strawberries. The palate is permeated by a simple but nice acidity and a subtle sense of wet granite. Nothing fancy, nothing complex, nothing striking ones mind, but definitely a good "food & friends" companion.
smooth. we drank with bison burgers. also good by itself. licorice flavor? from wine store near Iron Goat.
very tasty; young easy drinking zin; not overly fruity
