Wine Description

Notes of cedar wood, roasted herbs, loamy earth and soil undertones in addition to abundant black cherry and black currant fruit jump from the glass of this medium to full-bodied, earthy style of wine that saturates the palate and should drink well for up to a decade.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2008 Vintage) Castle Lyonnat Emotion is an exceptional vintage (between 15 000 and 25 000 bottles depending on the vintage) in AOC Lussac Saint Emilion making it a very great wine. It is produced on a plateau limestone clay 6 ha of old Merlot vines. In the green vineyard work special care is given to these plots. They are particularly subject to manual thinning to promote good grape maturity. The date of the harvest is chosen to ensure full maturity and is followed by a very meticulous sorting. The working wine differs from wine Château Lyonnat by further extraction. Furthermore the cuvée Emotions undergone malolactic fermentation in new barrels and from farm to farm in French new oak barrels for 18 months. The resulting product has a wine color is intense, almost black. The nose is powerful, blackcurrant, blackberry, roasted notes and leather. The palate is complex, powerful, very fruity with detailed and robust tannins.

This wine started out a little green but softened into something beautiful. Like a faithful friendship, there were differences at first, then it was so comfortable.
