Winemaker's Notes

(From 1995 Vintage) The colour is sumptuous deep carmine with purplish tints. On the nose, this vintage is powerful, complex and concentrated, but not heavy. The ripe fruit aromas, reminiscent of candied fruit, dominate the smoky and vanilla notes of the oak. In the mouth, the attack is full and velvety: the mid-palate is unctuous and fleshy, yet not too thick; the finish shows ripe and powerful tannins with no signs of dryness, prolonging the general harmony of this wine. A classy, elegant, austere Lagrange, more in the style of 06 than 03. Medium-dark ruby color. Nose of dark fruits, a touch of green bell pepper, cola. Medium-bodied, big tannins now but I think this will be a really enjoyable and delicious wine in 5-8 years. 91+

(From 2006 Vintage) 66% Cabernet Sauvignon; 22% Merlot; 7% Petit Verdot. This somewhat sturdy and well-stuffed youngster starts out with complex aromas of cassis, stone and graphite and for a moment hints that it might be plush on the palate. It nonetheless turns out to be a bit little bit backward and a touch on the tough side, but it shows plenty of depth and promises good things with six to eight years of age.
