The best grapes from the castle vineyards, picked up by hand, are quickly taken to the cellar. The DOCG wine is100% sangiovese from nearly 900 year old property, but it is made in the throughly modern Chianti style, aging for 16-18 months in oak, 50 % of which is new. It's full of juicy ripe cherries and is freshly acidic, with just a trade of tartness and leather. It's elegant and complex - at a deep discount. ABV 14%
A good little chianti, no bite, well worth the money, a great deal.
