(2009 Vintage) The best grapes from the castle vineyards, picked up by hand, are quickly taken to the cellar. After a soft press and rasping, the alcoholic fermentation on the skins is carried out, in small tanks, individually monitored with great care, so that the punching down and délestage are carried out in the ideal measure and times for each must.
Chronicle score of 19, 9 for quality and 10 for value. The DOCG wine is100% sangiovese from nearly 900 year old property, but it is made in the throughly modern Chianti style, aging for 16-18 months in oak, 50 % of which is new. It's full of juicy ripe cherries and is freshly acidic, with just a trade of tartness and leather. It's elegant and complex - at a deep discount. ABV 14%
A good little chianti, no bite, well worth the money, a great deal.
Smooth. Not too dry.
Delicious Chianti. Smooth
