Extremely rich and complex, the nose is showing a multitude of ripe red and black fruits (redcurrant, raspberries, cassis, blackberries) with notes of liquorice, truffle, balsamic and spices (cedar, nutmeg and black pepper), all perfectly integrated. The intense aromas evolve nicely in the glass, slowly opening up to more intense and complex notes.
Ungratfed vines between 50 and 100 years old give birth to Numanthia, the estate’s signature wine. Low yields provide concentrated fruit of remarkable intensity and power, carefully nurtured during vinification.18 months’ ageing in French oak brings balance and structure. Wood aromas on the nose are coupled with notes of berries, cedar and liquorice in the mouth, closing with a long, silken finish.
