(From 2013 Vintage) Two things make this wine unique: the quality and the price. La Cartuja proudly proclaims the identity of the flavors of Priorat. The wine is made in an approachable style to be enjoyed young. It is neither alcoholic nor overly tannic. Made with organic, estate-owned fruit, it is aged in French oak barrels for only 6 months.
A blend of Grenache and Mazuelo with a little Cabernet and Syrah from an organically farmed estate, a plush, concentrated wine with bright berry flavors-Winery notes. Deep purple; full of red berries with hints of minerals and dried herbs. A medium bodied wine, silky texture, specie rich, black cherries on the finish.
layers of spice, berries and chocolate, but still relatively light compared to other reds. not too heavy for a hot summer.
Smooth but medium weight. Cherry flavors with a hint of spice that doesn't bite the tongue.
