(2009 Vintage) Quimera is architecture and design; it is a unique warm-blend that was conceived at the vineyard. Every year Santiago and Roberto look for the meaning within the earth in the search for the impossible wine, making it unique year after year.
Aged in 40% new French oak. Pain grille, pencil lead, Asian spices, incense, violets, and assorted black fruits inform the nose of a complex, intense, layered, spicy, succulent wine with impeccable balance and length. Although it can be approached now, it will benefit from another 2-3 years of cellaring.
Young. It"s extremely tannic yet. Deserved to be drunk just in 3 or 5 years more.
What a great Costco wine!
