(1998 Vintage) This 1998 chardonnay was produced from grapes grown at the Woodward Canyon estate vineyard (25%) in the Walla Walla Valley, and the Conner Lee vineyard (75%) near Othello in south central Washington. The grapes were hand picked, sorted and whole cluster pressed. Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(2006 Vintage) Long on oak, fairly spicy and faintly nutty in tone, this weighty, firmly built wine makes up in richness for what it may lack in the way of obvious fruit. It is solid but a still bit tight in feel, and it strikes us as one that will find genuine benefit with a few years of further development.
