Vina Almaviva Puente Alto

Wine Description

(From 2003 Vintage) Very dense, with loads of raspberry ganache, black currant and fig fruit layered with loam, tobacco, mineral and cedar notes. Lots of grip on the finish, with impressive balance between the tannins, acidity and oak. Built like a Pauillac.

Winemaker's Notes

Deep, intense ruby red. The nose reveals pure, delicate aromas of ripe blackcurrants, wild strawberries and blackberries, blended with hints of minerals and fine notes of vanilla, coffee, licorice and spices. The mouth shows outstanding balance, a firm tannic structure anbd exceptional length. The tannins are ripe, refined and concentrated, contributing to the density and elegant texture of the wine. A complex, graceful and brilliant wine, pure and precise in its mineral character, persistent and layered, harmoniously balanced by a great acidity.
