(From 2000 Vintage)
90 Points - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate The 2000 Zinfandel Juvenile is a composite blend of fruit from young vines from all the top Zinfandel vineyards Turley farms (i.e., Moore/Earthquake, Hayne, Duarte, and Presenti). These young vine parcels are segregated and not blended with the old vine parcels used for the more substantial offerings produced under the single vineyard labels. There are 950 cases of the Juvenile, which sees about 20% new oak. This is a great value in Zinfandel ($20.00), offering abundant quantities of cassis and blackberry fruit, a big, peppery, spicy nose, medium to read more...full body, and loads of berry fruit offered in an extravagantly rich, grapy style.

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(From 2000 Vintage) Sporting all of the bombast and dramatic overripeness that has become Turley's signature style, this deeply flavored, very full-bodied Zinfandel is fit with a surprising dose of blackberry-like fruit. Almost sweet in taste with a supple and somewhat viscous feel on the palate, it is sure to overwhelm most entrees and is a wine to pair with very rich cheeses rather than one for washing down Wednesday night pasta.
