Thevenet's 2008 Morgon Vieilles Vignes displays considerable but positive oxidative development, evoking autumn foliage, forest floor, game, dried red fruits, blond tobacco, leather and toasted nuts. Overtones of kirsch and nut extracts add high-toned further complexity and savory salinity adds to the invigoration of a sappy, tart-edged finish. Do the mature but fascinating aromas and flavors here, or the wine's sense of energy and its more youthful finishing impressions more accurately forecast where it's headed? I would only cellar it cautiously. - Robert Parker, 90 points, 8/2010
