Quinta Do Crasto Douro Reserva Old Vines

Wine Details

Wine Description

(2011 Vintage) As the name suggests, this wine is made from old vines with an average age of 70 years, including as many as 30 different grape varieties. Quinta do Crasto Reserva Old Vines shows a complex aroma, with the fruit and the oak very well integrated and revealing spicy nuances. Intense and deep on the palate. The firm tannic structure gives great balance to the wine, with a long and lingering finish. This wine pairs very well with rich red meat or game dishes.

Dark purple with high viscosity. Big tannins and acid to balance it. Currants and a bit of heat. Good finish and quite lengthy. Can cellar for up to 20 years. Decant for a couple hours. Right bank Douro, ancient vines.

(2005 Vintage) "Deeply colored, with intense yet refined aromas and flavors of kirsch, boysenberry, dark cherry and spice. The fruit is supported by focused notes of mineral and graphite, and the finish is loaded with dark chocolate and medium tannins. Drink now through 2015. 1,500 cases imported."
