(From 2012 Vintage) The 2013 PlumpJack Estate Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of raspberry, blueberry, and black cherry with subtle notes of sage, iron filings, wet granite, baker's chocolate, and vanilla. The palate is rich and opulent with fresh fruit flavors of blackberry and raspberry, layered with chocolate and warming spice.
(From 2011 Vintage) The 2011 PlumpJack Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is fresh and lively with its expressive fruit and layered notes of dried red fruits, vanilla, cinnamon, sage and fresh herbs that carry over onto the palate. Dark, nuanced and beautifully woven together demonstrating impressive balance and structure.
Wine & SpiritsFrom the Oakville estate of Plumpjack (the former Villa Mt. Eden Vineyard made famous by Nils Venge, whom I believe is still a consultant), the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate has a gorgeous nose of creme de cassis, licorice, and graphite. Flawlessly put together, with delicate tannins, full body, but elegance combined with power, this impressively pure, layered, multi-dimensional Cabernet Sauvignon is already drinkable. It need another 5-7 years to gain complexity, but this is a superb 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon to be drunk now or cellared for two decades.
